Monitoring of Dams, Dikes,Hydraulic Structures
  • ●   Monitoring of Dams,Dikes,Hydraulic Structures。 GTC developed in 1996 a continuous dam monitoring system based on distributed fibre optic temperature measurements and carried out the first installations worldwide. GTC developed the Heat Pulse Method in combination with fibre optic temperature sensing in 1998. The methods are used for leakage detection in dams as well as for the monitoring of conventional mass concrete and RCC structures. GTC is the leading company in this field and equipped more than 80 dams with fibre optic leak detection systems. This technique is also used for pipeline monitoring.
    ●   GTC tests for all kind of sealing elements as e.g. jet grouting, diaphragm, sheet pile and slurry trench walls. Leakage detection is provided for cut-off walls and deep excavation pits and shafts.
    ●   GTC estimates geotechnical and thermal parameters in situ and in lab. Additional services offered are: monitoring of landfill sites, detection of leaks in pipeline systems, hydro- geological investigations, planning of geothermal power plants and numerical modelling of fluid, solute and heat transport in subsoil. GTC provides economic cost evaluations and feasibility studies for deep geothermal projects.
